Synopsis

Happy Easter, Mouse is the perfect holiday board book for children three and under.  Author Laura Numeroff brings back her classic character from If You Give a Mouse a Cookie to tell a simple Easter story.

In the book, Mouse has painted a variety of eggs in preparation for Easter.  When he wakes the next day, he’s seen that they’ve been hidden all over the house!

With the Easter egg hunt underway, Mouse sets out on a colorful exploration to find all the eggs (and who is hiding them everywhere)!

What makes Happy Easter, Mouse a great book?

Teach Your Toddler about Colors

Not only is Happy Easter, Mouse a charming Easter-themed book, it also teaches kids about colors.  Throughout the book, we see Mouse finding eggs of specific colors and calling them out by name.  This layout makes it easy for toddlers to learn the connection between the names and visual display of primary colors.

Easter is naturally associated with bright colors, so Numeroff’s decision to use both subjects to educate younger audiences is a smart one.  The fun illustrations by Felicia Bond will easily keep kids engaged throughout.

Our Favorite Characters are Back!

You’d be hard-pressed to find someone that hasn’t come across one of Laura Numeroff’s popular children’s books.  In Happy Easter, Mouse, she brings back her Mouse character from If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Take a Mouse to School

Although this one doesn’t follow the familiar “if, then” pattern of her other books, the charm of her lovable characters can still be felt.  The illustrations from Felicia Bond are consistent with others in the series, highlighted by their vivid color and detail.
