About Yuyi
Yuyi Morales is a Mexican born author/illustrator who migrated to the United States in 1994. Upon arriving in the U.S., Morales fell in love with children’s books after visiting her first public library and regular credits it as the catalyst for discovering her passion in writing. Morales ultimately enrolled in extension classes at UC Berkeley and soon began her pursuit of becoming a children’s book author. Since then, Morales has won a number of awards, including the Parent’s Choice Award and America’s Award for Children’s and Young Adult Literature in 2003 for Just a Minute: A Trickster Tale and Counting Book.
